Dojo Bookings alternative · UK · sourced and dated 4 November 2026

A Dojo Bookings alternative for UK restaurants that want the floor plan and the bill in one system

Dojo is a card-payments company that also sells a booking product, built to sit beside the EPOS you already have. Slotina is one system for the room itself: the booking, the table it lands on, the order and the bill. The right choice depends on what you want to keep.

Leave an address and the list writes to you once: the day Slotina opens.

A card company that takes bookings, and a restaurant system

Dojo's main business is card payments: card machines, Tap to Pay on iPhone, payment links and next-day transfers of takings. Dojo Bookings is sold beside them, with online reservations, walk-ins, a virtual queue, booking deposits and guest profiles.

Where Bookings gets its tables from is the detail that matters. Dojo's developer documentation describes Bookings reading the tables and their availability from the venue's POS, which it treats as the source of truth, and its integrated-payments page connects the card machine to an EPOS from a long list of partner providers. Dojo's pages, as opened, describe no till of its own. In Slotina the room is drawn in Slotina, and the order and the bill run there too.

Choose Dojo Bookings if

  • Your card machines are Dojo's and you want the bookings from the same company, with one supplier to deal with.
  • Your EPOS already holds your tables and menu, you are happy with it, and you want bookings that read the room from there.
  • You want diners to find and book you through Dojo's own diners' app as well as Google.

What Slotina leaves out

  • No bookings from Google, a diners' app or any other network: only your own booking page, the phone and the door.
  • Your Dojo card machine and your EPOS stay where they are: Slotina does not connect to either of them.
  • No card terminal on the counter: cards are taken with Tap to Pay on a phone, or paid by the guest from the table's QR code.

What Slotina does with the room

The room, to scale

You draw each room at its real size and put the tables on it, so a booking lands on a table that exists, the party of eight goes to the tables you named as pushable, and the terrace opens and closes as a room of its own.

Saturday at 19:40

A walk-in is seated in one tap. If nothing is free they join the waiting list with an honest estimate, and when a table frees up their card says so. The host and the floor see the same evening on every tablet.

The bill where the booking was

The table that was booked is the table that orders, and the bill it pays is split by dish, by seat or evenly, with the tip on each payment. One system from the booking to the last check.

Moving from Dojo Bookings

  1. Export from Dojo

On Slotina's import screen, pick Dojo Bookings: it shows Dojo's own export steps. Download the export from Dojo as the ZIP file it comes in.

  2. Check the columns, then preview

Upload the ZIP as it is. The columns are matched from the file's headers; you check or change the matching and see a preview before anything is saved.

  3. Guests and bookings arrive

Future bookings arrive confirmed, waiting for a table; past ones become each guest's visit history. A guest already on file is matched by e-mail or phone and never overwritten. No marketing consent is carried across from a Dojo file.

  4. Draw the room and open the page

Draw your rooms and tables, set your services and turn times, then give the new booking page's link to your website and your regulars. An import can be undone from its history if something looks wrong.

Dojo Bookings questions

Can I bring my Dojo Bookings guests and bookings across?

Yes, through a file: pick Dojo Bookings on Slotina's import screen, follow Dojo's export steps it shows, and upload the ZIP as it comes. You check the column matching and a preview first; no marketing consent comes across from a Dojo file.

Do I have to give up my Dojo card machine?

That is your choice, but the two are separate. Slotina takes cards with Tap to Pay on a phone or from the table's QR code, through your own Stripe account; a payment taken on another machine is recorded on the bill by hand as card or other, because Slotina does not connect to it.

Why does this page not show Dojo's prices?

Dojo prices Bookings by quote after sign-up and publishes no Bookings price list, and this site prints nobody else's prices in any case. Its pricing and Bookings pages are linked above.

Is this comparison for Irish restaurants too?

No. Dojo's Irish site sells card machines and does not mention Bookings, so this page compares the offer in the UK.
